All Equines Need to be Micro Chipped.

To comply with EC Regulation 504/2008 all animals issued with a horse passport after 1 July 2009 must have a microchip inserted.

 

With effect from 1st July 2009, to comply with this, all applications for new passports received by the Northern Ireland Horse Board will require to have details of a microchip shown on the marking chart.

If owners have recently had a micro chip inserted and recorded on the bottom left corner of the marking chart in the passport, they should inform the horse board immediately by sending their details along with a copy from the passport of the marking chart including micro chip barcode.

 

There is no charge for this updating service.
