Naomi Meeke, from Dromara in Co. Down, has been co-opted onto the Northern Ireland Horse Board as Director in charge of Youth Development.

Naomi was awarded First in BSC (Hons) Degree in Equine Management; the Vaughan Trust Award and  the Tullyraine House Cup, both for the top final year degree student and also the Irish Draught Horse Society (Northern Region) Cup for the best dissertation produced by a final year degree student.

A keen horserider, Naomi competes a 5yo Dow Jones gelding, but is keen to pursue a career in equine research, particularly within the field of parasitology and anthelmintic resistance, and she hopes to do a phD in this area.
